ICEBREAKER 2015 WITH TROY TALMAN

Updated: Apr 15, 2019

The 2015 season started out on a good note with a new partnership with Troy Talman piloting Ole' Blue for the Icebreaker 150 NASCAR Modified Tour race at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. The name of the game for the Icebreaker and the BRE team was consistency, and that just what they got. Troy was 17th on the board for practice and qualified the DCU and NAPA Sponsored #3 later that afternoon, in 19th starting spot.

At the drop of the green all seemed well for Ole' Blue and its new driver, getting a feel for the NWMT action at the high banked oval. Early the driver complained of a slight loose condition on set in the corner, which made it difficult to protect the bottom. But still maintained 15th -21st place run throughout several caution periods. Immediately after a restart, Troy spun the Cape Cod Copper Chevrolet and sustained moderate damage to the left front.

The BRE crew went to work assessing the damage, making repairs and getting Troy and Ole' Blue back on track. We spent the later part of the race trying to get back on the lead lap, but managed a 20th place finish after a last lap incident blocked the front stretched and required Troy to go for the grass coming to the line. All in all a great start to the season, and looking forward to a great run at Stafford Motor Speedway's  44th Annual Spring Sizzler sponsored by NAPA.
